Why is everyone mourning the loss of Steve Jobs like he was some kind of messianic figure? Ok, he invented a poor substitute to Windows and pioneered an elitist, obnoxious lifestyle centred around the acquisition of material goods. Big whoop.

I can understand why his family, friends and co-workers may be upset at his passing, but why are there random civilians embarking on pilgrimage to their local Apple Stores and creating shrines and murals in his name? It boggles the mind...
